Audio-Technica today unveiled their new line of compact speakers for PMPs. Dubbed as “Bijoué”, a coined word from French “Bijou” for “jewellery”, to match its look that is more like a jewellery-box than a speaker. Sized H37×W78×D74mm to fit perfectly the size of a lady’s palm, it is also equipped with a mirror under its lid, making it ideal especially for women to check their make-up etc. As to the technical details, it sports a built-in amplifier, φ28mm full range speaker unit, is capable of up to 600mW of output, powered by two DC3V AAA alkaline batteries, offers approx.33 hours of continuous music and weighs just 105g.

Offered in 6 colors (Black, Brown, Gold, Light Pink, Pink and Silver), it is scheduled to be released in Japan from June 18 this year. No word on pricing.
