Pioneer and iXs joint-development: Carnaby Navigation Robot

Pioneer Navigation Robot Carnaby

Pioneer and iXS research jointly developed a car navigation robot called “Carnaby”. Sponsored by the Kawasaki Prefecture in relation to their Intellectual Property Policy Promotion Initiative and the related Intellectual Property Exchange Meeting, Carnaby has been developed through collaboration among the local SMEs, Pioneer and iXs Research Corp., who has expertise on motion move technology.

This robot can guide the driver as to turn right or left by movement of its wings as soon as it receives the navigational instructions. And as you come closer to the turning point, it flaps its wings and its eyes glow.

They will keep working on the robot to make it helpful for old people as well as for people with hearing disabilities.
