Softbank Summer 2010 Collection… It’s Twitter Time Baby !
This morning Softbank announced none the less than 12 new mobile phones in Japan with one common feature… Twitter! Yes Apparently Twitter is starting to be a HUGE thing in Japan and goes far beyond already that MySpace and FaceBook, but since now SoftBank is now heavly backing up Twitter in Japan and incorporate it in all its Summer handset, we can bet that Twitter will soon kick ass to some major player here like Mixi for example.
Twitter Integration
Softbank worked closely with Twitter in Japan and did not only implement a dedicated Java Twitter App, but also a set of App for people who does not desire to create a Twitter account immediately. Basically from your mobile phone you will either be capable to create your own tweets and and follows other people tweets, or just follow a selection of preprogrammed twitter channel (sports, Fashion, News) created by Softbank in order to get all the latest news without the needs for your to create an account.
The Phones.
Among the 12 new phones only a few are worth mentioning, like for example the:
Sharp Mirumo 2 944SH with its stunning touch memory sub display LCD, giving you basic information like contact, date, Weather, Pictures, Tweets… Being a none color lcd this sub display can be easily be checked even dark places. Other features include the obvious Wi-Fi, HSPDA/HSUPA, Waterproof, 1Seg TV tuner, 3” QVGA screen, 8Mpix Camera sensor, GPS…
Sharp Aquos Shot 945SH, a Watperoof Mobile phone as well with HSPDA/HUSPA, comes with a 12.10Mpix sensor, Capable to record 720p video and comes with HDMI out, as well as the usual 1Seg, GPS…
Panasonic 942P that comes with a 13.16Mpix sensor, a 27mm Wide lens, Smile Shutter, Group Shutter, Waterproof, WiFi, 1Seg, HSDPA, 3.1” VGA touch display
Samsung 941SC, with its 3.3” VGA OLED display, WiFi, GPS, HSDPA, HSUPA, supporting SNS services like Twitter of course but also Mixi, Facebook, Myspace, Friendster as well as YouTube, Picasa and Flickr.
Panasonic 842P and its 10mm thin thich boby, 3” QVGA screen, 3.2Mpix CMOS sensor, HSDAP, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS…
And finally the Amazing Gundam 945SH G from Sharp, a Sharp Aquos 945SH tuned with a Gundam paint job and an amazing Gundam Docking Station featuring a Gundam RX-78 model.
