Android 2.2 comes blessed with USB tethering and Wi-Fi Hotspot functions
As you may know Google are expected to unveil their latest Android OS, the Android 2.2 (a.k.a Froyo) at the Google I/O Developer’s Event next week on May 19-20 in San Francisco. However, ahead of this event, some of its features have already leaked such as integrated Flash 10.1 support and a 450 % performance boost over Android 2.1 Eclair. And today we are happily shaken by the additional info that it will also feature USB Tethering and Wi-Fi Hotspot functions. It translates as the possibility for either a wired-connection with your portable devices including your laptop or a wireless connection with them to internet via your phone’s 3G connection. However, as it is well pointed out, there is obscurity, yet as to whether the carriers will allow Wi-Fi hotspot function or else charge it extra.
