Japan is THE country when it comes to GPS systems, they are usually ultra performant and ultra complete (ok, I like the word ultra). The Japanese GPS systems have 2 functions that help to determine your position namely FM and a gyroscope, and these systems can compensate for a covered sky and lack of attelite coverage (in tunnels for example). Korea hasn’t reached this stage of perfection yet, and in most cases, the GPs systems are not integrated into the cars, and that’s why PDA solutions and portable GPS systems are selling like crazy over there.
