South Korea to start Terrestrial 3D TV service in Full HD this year
According to the recent announcement by the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), South Korea is ready to start 3D TV broadcast trials this year in a couple of weeks. Britain and Japan have already tested 3D TV broadcasting but unlike them South Korea will be offering the service through terrestrial networks instead of satellite network and will be the first in the World to offer the service in Full HD image quality.
The KCC is planning to issue license next year in January but for the trial broadcasts this year, the South Korean cable TV channel CJ HelloVision is reportedly already preparing to offer 3D content on its video-on-demand (VOD) service within a week or two.
