Motz Wooden HazelNut Speaker/FM radio for MP3 players
Using wood (for good sound quality) is nothing new. Portable wooden speakers is nothing new, neither. But a 15 g hand-made nut-shaped speaker-FM radio is something, I believe, you wouldn’t regret to read about and see.
The company behind this creation is the South Korea-based Pyramid Distribution. In fact, it is through this product that they caught our attention. They offer various range of products including USB multiboard for iMac, DMP, Wireless Keyboard, aluminum stand for iPhone 3G/3GS marketed with 6 different brand names. The “Motz” brand stands out as the only one offering exclusive hand-made products made from natural materials, at least, this flagship product hints us so.
Meticulously carved and nicely shaped to make sure you take it for a real nut, it functions not only as a speaker for iPod and other MP3 players, but also as an FM radio. It features a USB port for charging and connection to the players and a headphone jack. Powered by a rechargeable Li-Polymer Battery (3.7v), it promises about 10 hours of listening if with earphones and 5 hours if used as a speaker or AUX.
There is no word on sound output, but well, that’s not the main idea here, right?
In case you would consider to get one for yourself, and live in a place where seeing squirrels around is no surprise, just make sure not to get your lovely device stolen by a playful one of them.
And the price? It is $35.99 on the company’s web shop.
