Beware! Your Blu-Ray player may not play Avatar Blu-ray Disc

Last week, swarms of people flooded into the stores worldwide to get a copy of AVATAR’s Blu-ray Disc but apparently just to end up discovering that the disc would refuse to play in their Blu-ray players.
Crunchgear refer specifically to Samsung BD-UP5000 Blu-ray player as being incapable of the disc’s playback because of the unavailability of the firmware update that the device requires. Mind you, it is not only this particular Samsung model but also several other Blu-ray players by the same company that are reported to have the same problem on the internet forums.
However, discussions on the Forum of Amazon.com point out to the fact that it is not a simple firmware update matter but rather a DRM problem for which obviously it is the 20th Century Fox that people are mad at.
So if you have been planning to buy Avatar Blu-Ray Disc as a law-abiding person, or else, just like some people say they did, to rush to buy a Blu-ray player to play it on your TV, you’d better think twice.
