TEAC new AD-800 CD Recorder also includes a Cassette deck and USB port.

TEAC new AD-800 CD Recorder also includes a Cassette deck and USB port.

I know, I know purchasing a Cassette Deck audio recorder in 2010 may sound weird, but you will be surprised how many people are still using cassette tapes across the world… Indeed these old goodies are less susceptible to dust and dirt than CDs… Anyway TEAC released the AD-800 a nice little CD Recorder that will save your old cassette tapes digitally on a CD-R or even a USB key.
Announced in Japan at 57,750.00 Yen the AD-800 is just what you need if you still carry a huge amount of tapes like languages school for example.

$700 USD for a tape/cd recorder? LMAO! You can buy 5 bluray recorders for that price! this is a great way to send your company rocketing to bankruptcy! But seriously, this will keep me laughing for months! Also looks like it came out of the 80′s too!

      It was intended so.

Even if you had 50 bluray recorders you wouldn’t be able to digitize just a single audio cassette.

I’d like to hear the tape recording specs that is mentioned no where. If you like transferring Cds to tape, your better off with the Sony TCWE475 for taping from your own source.

It is the other way round, cassette -> CD

Only masochists or morons would want to use crap casette tapes with hiss, wow and flutter.

This is obviously a know-nothing fool. What a shame.

No, no, NO!  This thing does NOT record to to a CD-R.  It only records to a cassette or USB.  Shame on this review for mis-leading us.  $225.00 down the drain!
