Sanyo Li-Ion batteries powered Electric Car to Guiness Record

Announced today, Sanyo boast the Electrical Vehicle “Mira EV”,which achieved the Guinness Record for the “Longest Distance Travel by an Electric Vehicle on a Single Charge”, has been powered by Sanyo lithium-ion batteries. The battery system in the Mira EV is composed of 8320 cylindrical lithium-ion batteries (18650-type) and the power they provided allowed the car to cover 555.6 km from Nihonbashi, Tokyo to Nipponbashi, Osaka on a single charge.
Well, I don’t know about you but I couldn’t help wondering about the exact time it took for this journey, but unfortunately it is not disclosed. All we know is that it did start on November 17, 2009. Anyways, still something to appreciate from environmental standpoint..
