Lego Japan & Takara Tomy Arts team up for Lego mini figurines

This summer LEGO will launch mini figurine series worldwide. Here in Japan, sales strategy rather takes a local form with the collaboration between LEGO Japan and Takara Tomy Arts. As of mid-July, two sets of mini figurines (Side-A/Side-B) each composed of 8 different figurines will be available for purchase only in Takara Tomy’s so-called “Gatcha” capsule vending machines.
The catch here is once you insert a 300 yen into the machine and turn the handle, you will sure be getting one figurine but would never know which one until the machine picks and drops it. This would be particularly exciting for those of us who love “shopping in suspense”.
