Sharp will announce in a few minutes the development of the world’s first 3D/2D Touchscreen (Switchable) that does not require any 3D glasses to fully enjoy 3D images. The is in fact the very same kind of 3D/2D LCD that  the next Nintendo DS or also known as 3DS will feature.
The newly developed 3D LCD uses a parallax barrier system to display 3D images and taking full advantage of  advances made in CG-Silicon technology, our LCD can achieve both greater image quality and higher brightness.

Specs-wise,  our newly developed 3D LCD has  a 3.4” size with a FWVGA resolution (480×854), a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 500cd/m2 brightness in 2D Mode… Our New LCD is also slimmer and has major Ghost image reduction for a better & Sharper 3D quality. It is also important to notice that this will of course be  effective in both portrait and landscape modes.
