ICOO E900P R8 PMP introduced in China, claims Full HD 1280P support

The ICOO R8 has a 4.3” touch screen, support for countless audio and video formats and costs 399 yuan with 4GB on on-board storage. Interestingly the product claims “ultra-1280P Full HD video playback”…no idea what this actually means but it sure sounds impressive!

I bet good money this is some cheap PR stunt by the company, yet an old unofficial 1600 x 1280 resolution appears indeed to exist as you may see here : http://www.videotechnology.com/0904/formats.html
However there are serious problems with this since this is strictly a-possibly obsolete-computer monitor resolution and no TV set or HDMI spec supports it.
It is also even less wide than 4:3,edging 5:4 territory,so totally unsuitable for 16:9 TVs.Furthermore the pixel count is just a bit less than 1080p so even if you could find a way to support it there would be no point..
