Colour on your Zaurus

Details are quite unclear, but it seems that Sharp will offer (between June 24th and July 31st) to 7 contestants (per shop or in total??) the possibility to customize their Zaurus 3100 with a personalized casing. Quic cool, right? It also seems that some other people pimped the casing of their own Z in a different colour.

I can’t read the Japanese but are those just colored face plates that you can buy or do you have to buy the Zaurus already colored? I like the red and the blue ones but I live in the US so I’m limited to what I can find from importers and also to ones that are translated to english. If it’s just a face plate then I might be able to order one from Japan if it wasn’t too expensive. After I finish saving for a Zaurus of course.

Well it seems that you HAVE to buy the Zaurus like this… I hope they will give us the possibility to buy this kind of stuff in the near future…

The 7 colour Zauruses (Zaurii? ) are being given away in a competition – you won’t be able to buy them. Sharp may decide to release them for sale in the future though, I guess.

Each of the 7 winners of the competition will have their existing Zaurus repainted by Sharp i.e. the prize is just the repainting and doesn’t include a Zaurus. Sharp has setup 7 blogs (one for each colour) for the competition and you can enter by visiting the blog corresponding to the colour you want and filling in an entry form.
