Vein scanner by Hitachi

The first real biometrical scanner that we know is the digital fingerprint scanner. The we got the retina (eye) scanner and now we have the “finger vein authentication system”. This device will give you a scheme of the veins in your finger (unique for every human being) and if there is a positive match, you’ll get access to the device that is being protected (PC for example). 78x95x55mm for 150g and 365 USD.

FYI, Fujitsu is also racing for that biometric isssue. They showed last week a vein reader, that would read without contact, the veins network of the palm of a hand. It seems much more promising than the Hitachi technology.
