Screens for the car
If you’re dreaming of installing a PC in your car, you probably know that the PC part of the configuration is not the big problem as there are a lot of powerful PC’s in a small form factor on the market. The problem is usually the screen, because it’s usually not adapted to the design of a car. A company called LILIPUT tries to tackle that problem by offering screen solutions with reduced dimensions so that they can be integrated into your car.
First of all we have the GL701-NP/C, which is a model that fits perfectly into the cassette/CD/MD player slot. The screen is touch sensitive and has a 16/9 form factor and a 7″ diameter. you also get a remote control and needless to say that it also acts as a FM radio. The best part is that you can add a UNIVERSAL TV tuner (PAL/SECAM/NTSC), which is an excellent idea.
Then we have the 619GL-70NP/C, which is a (non-touch sensitive) 7″ and 16/9 screen that can be connected to a PC or any other (video) source.
According to LILLIPUT, you can connect a GPS system to these screens too.
We have no info on the prices or availability.
