Bluetooth 4.0 devices to be on the shelves in Q4

There are two new features introduced with Bluetooth 4.0 specification: First , it will also be able to be used in lower-power devices such as watches and pedometers that run on coin-cell batteries unlike its precedent versions which could only be used in devices with triple-A or larger-capacity batteries, according to Bluetooth SIG. Secondly, It adopted low-energy specification (Ble) for “the transmission of small bursts of data in addition to the high-speed data transfer capabilities introduced with Bluetooth 3.0 last April.”
Other than these it retains the same high-speed Bluetooth-to WiFi capabilities introduced with Bluetooth 3.0 +HS allowing devices to jump onto Wi-Fi 802.11 networks, where it can transfer data at up to 25Mbits per second.
The devices with the new Bluetooth 4.0 specification are expected to appear this year by Q4.
