Corsair Reactor Series and Nova Series Solid-State Drives Available

One of Corsair’s new additions to its SSD family,the Reactor Series is built using the new JMicron’s second-generation controller JMF612 which incorporates 128MB of DDR2 cache memory. The series offer 60GB (up to 250 MB/s read and 110 MB/s write) and 120GB (250 MB/s read and 170 MB/s write) drive capacities with price tags $185 and $349 respectively.

As to the new Nova Series, it is built using the Indilinx Barefoot controller with 64MB of cache memory, 64GB (270 MB/s read and 130 MB/s write) and 128GB (270 MB/s read and 190 MB/s write) with price tags $199 and $375 respectively.

Both series fully support TRIM command in Windows 7.

    It should be noted Corsair’s Reactor series with the new JMicron controller includes a USB 2.0 speed port which adds value for ease in copying, transferring or cloning to an SSD on a Mac or PC – and is coming in at a street price $20 or more lower than Indilinx based drives. Bodes well for the SSD market in 2010.
