CompactFlash 5.0 cards to offer up to 144 petabytes of theoratical storage

The CompactFlash Association (CFA) announced the availability of the CF5.0 Specification. The new format is capable of 144-petabytes (up from the current 137 GB) of theoretical storage and speed up to 32MB/s (up from the current 128KB/s).

    Actually the quoted speeds do not refer to the total speed of the card but to the maximum “speed per transfer” for each command,sort of like the size of the packets in network terms.
    In other words the size of the data chunks grows from merely 128KB to 32MB.
    128KB/s is just too low;modern 600x UDMA CF cards sport-theoretically-up to 90MB/s data transfers.
