AuthenTec, security at your fingertips
The biometric PC proctection solutions are booming in Japan, like on the T70 by Fujitsu, the latest Toshiba U100, Fijutsu’s Tablet PC and several mobile phones. The leading company in this domain is not ATMEL (that provides the biometric scanners on iPAQ’s) but AuthenTec. The majority of the Japanese manufactures entrust this company with the implementation of these solutions on their machines. the most important point is the arrival of the AES1510, that is 33% smaller than its precedessors. Interesting to know about these components is that they can be used as a mouse (the sliding function that makes a page go up or down).
