Toshiba Libretto U100 and SS SX

After 3 years of abscence, here we have the TOSHIBA LIBRETTO again!
The ultraportable resurfaces in Japan with a Pentium M 733 (1.1Ghz) CPU, 256Mb of RAM (max 1Gb), 60Gb of HDD space and a docking station with a DVD R/RW/RAM burner. This little monster has a 7.2″ WXGA screen ( 1280×768 ) and all this is packed in a 999g and 210x165x30mm package. It won’t be cheap though at 1800 EUR in Japan, and its looks don’t cause mass-hysteria either.

The slightly bigger brother of the Libretto is the SS SX. The ultra-compact Toshiba’s are meant for the professional market and the casing of this SS SX has been (successfully) redesigned. Underneath the neat outside, we find a Pentium M 753 (1.2Ghz) CPU, 256Mb of PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM (max 1280Mb), an Intel 915GMS Express chipset, a 60Gb HDD and a 12.1″ XGA screen (what happened to the WXGA from the Libretto???). It also packs Wireless b/g and Bluetooth. the dimensions of this box are 286x229x9.9mm and it weighs 1.29kg. Ver nice indeed!
