Panasonic “Let’s Note” Notebooks in the new “R9 Series” boast Intel Core i7 in small body

Boasting Intel Core i7-620 UM vPro (1.06 GHz) CPU in a body measuring 229×187×29.4 that weighs around 0.93kg, the R series notebooks are also equipped with 2 GB (up to 4GB) of DDR3 SDRAM, 250 GB (Serial ATA) of HDD, 10.4-inch (1024 x 768) XGA TFT Color LCD, Intel QM57 Express Chipset (graphics card included), USB 2.0 x 2, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet, Type 2 PC card slot, SD/ SDHC card slot , Mini D-Sub 15 pin and runs on either Windows 7 Professional 32bit or 64 bit depending on your choice and has built-in Windows XP mode.

CF-R9JWACDR notebook from the R series is expected cost around 180.000 yen whereas the model with Office Personal 2007 + Powerpoint pre-installed, the CF-R9JWANDR is expected to come at around 210,000 yen. Both will be available as of February 17 in Japan.

One last remark is that, it is possible to get upgrade of the CPU to Core i7-640 UM (1.20GHz, up to 2.26 GHz), and HDD to 500 GB, Bluetooth built-in, 128 GB of SSD, select the color you like from among more than 12 color options and even get your name tag installed under the notebook if you purchase from their online shopping site “Club Panasonic Mylet”.

    So,the 1,06/1,20 Ghz are the *minimum* speeds?
    If so,these appear to be a good deal : essentially upper mainstream laptop specs in a netbook size and weight.
    It’s just unfortunate that we get no laptops from Panasonic in Greece :(

    Sharpedon, I think this thanks to the Turbo Boost from Panasonic… Actually I’m not a specialist of Panasonic Notebook, Daimaou knows more about them. But, What I can say is Panasonic Notebook are really viable PC, solid, may be a little bit expensive…

    But compared to Sony Vaio, and other competitor, Let’s note PC performed well, and way better than lot of competitor. A lot of company in Japan run on Panasonic Notebook for their performance.
