Two new “emachines” brand desktop PCs from ACER: “EL1332-E12 and EL1832-E13″

Some of you may already know the emachines brand launched in 1998, had been acquired by Gateway, Inc in March 2004 and eventually acquired by Acer Inc. Under the motto “Affordable computers, incredible value and performance”, PCs of this brand have been selling in various parts of the World.

And today Acer announced the launch of two new PCs from this pocket-friendly brand:

The EL1332-E12 model entry desktop PC is of 100×371×265mm dimension and weighs around 5.2kg. Other main specs include AMD Athlon II 160u(1.80GHz, 1MB L2 Cache) CPU, 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM/DIMM, NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE chip set (including graphics card), 320GB HDD, DVD Super multi-drive, Windows 7 Home Premium(32bit), USB 2.0×9, multi-card reader, Mini D-Sub15 Pin and Gigabit Ethernet.

As to the other model, the EL1832-E13, it is performance desktop PC and is of 100×371×265mm with around 5.3kg of weight. Main specs include 18.5 “ wide HD (1.366 x 768) LCD, Pentium E5400(2.70GHz) CPU, 2GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM/ DIMM, NVIDIA GeForce 7100 +nForce 630ichipset, 320GB 7200 rpm SATA HDD、DVDsuper multi-drive, Windows 7 Home Premium(32bit), USB 2.0×9, multi-card reader, eSATA, HDMI out、Mini D-Sub15 Pin、Gigabit Ethernet and Serial Port.

The price tag of the first is announced to be around 39,800 yen and of the latter around 59, 800 yen. Both are scheduled to be available in Japan on January 29.

    I picked up a couple of EL1300G’s for the kids this year. I gotta say, these are actually decent machines. Despite their small size, they pack a decent amt. of power in there. Anyways, this is a bigger brother, and sounds a little faster.
