Universal Studios now boasts Singapore’s largest HIT Photovoltaic System thanks to SANYO
Sanyo Asia Pte Ltd has announced today the completion of the the Photovoltaic (PV) System within the Universal Studio theme park located in Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore. The system utilizes 2,397 pieces of HIT (Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin layer) solar cells which are themselves the fruits of the original technology that Sanyo developed and claims that offers “the world’s highest power generation lever per installation area”. The system, reportedly capable of generating annual solar energy “equivalent of 108 typical four-room flats in Singapore” and of reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions equivalent to 342 tons a year, is considered to be the largest such system at 500kWp in Singapore.
