LaVie L Series: NEC to Launch Core i3 and i5 / USB 3.0 Notebooks
NEC introduced today, during a press conference held in Tokyo, some new interesting models of 16-Inch Notebook, Lavie L series, featuring USB 3.0 ports, and Core i5 processor.
Available at the end of January, for around 200 000 yens (1500€), the LL870/WG is equipped with a 16 inch EX LCD Full HD display (1920 x 1080), a Core i5-430M (2.26GHz) CPU, an Intel HM55 Express chipset, 500GB of HDD, as well as 4GB of RAM, a Blu-Ray disc Drive, and Wireless Digital TV Tuner.
For the rest of the specs, NEC integrated 2 USB 3.0 ports, as well as 3 USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, HDMI Output, WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, and Felica Port.

Regarding the other models:
The LL850/WG provides almost the same specs, without the Wireless Digital TV Tuner, and the Wifi is only b/g/n. Price: 190 000 Yens or 1425€.
The LL750/WG features a 1366×768 LCD screen instead of the Full HD one. We won’t have USB3.0 ports, and the models will be equipped with 5 USB 2.0 ports. Finally, the Bluetooth has been removed on this version.
Expected price: 180 000 Yens (1350€)
Lastly, the LL650/WG is the same model as the LL750/WG, but equipped with a DVD SuperMulti drive instead of the Blu-Ray drive.
Price: 170 000 Yens or 1275€.
NEC was also presenting their new Core i3 Notebooks during this Press Conference. Also scheduled to be released at the end of January, the LL700/WG (which is the High-end version) is announced with a 15.6 inch EX LCD display with a resolution of 1366×768. The LL700 also comes with a core i3-330M CPU, 4GB of RAM, an Intel HM55 Express Chipset, as well as 500GB of HD, and a Blu-Ray disc drive.
No word on the price, but you can expect something like 170 000 Yens or 1275€.
The LL550/WG will feature almost same specs as the LL700/WG, but NEC proposes a DVD SuperMulti Drive instead of the Blu-Ray Drive. Available in four different colors, the price should be around 160 000 Yens or 1265€.
The LL350 will be equipped with 320GB of HDD, while the LL150, the Low-End models is announced with a Celeron T3000 (1.80GHz) CPU, 2GB of memory, an Intel GM45 Express Chipset, 320GB of HDD, as well as five USB 2.0 ports.
