The ruggedized Casio EX-G1 is now available in Japan
Introduced here in November 2009, Casio just put their latest shock-resistant, waterproof, dustproof digital camera on the Japanese Market. Available for 40 000 yens, or 300€, the Exilim EX-G1 can be used under water at a depth of 3 meters during 60 minutes, can resist to multiple falls from 2.13 meters height. I can also resist to temperature as low as -10°C, and thanks to its IEC/JIS Protection Class 6 (IP6X), the EX-G1 is impervious to dust.
Regarding the technical specs, the EX-G1 features a 1/2.3-inch square pixel CCD sensor with a resolution of 12.1 Megapixel, a 3x optical Zoom, a 4x digital zoom, a 2.5 inch LCD monitor, an Intelligent AF, 35.7MB of internal memory, a micoSD / microSDHC slot.
The GX1 is available in Black, or Red color, and can also record video in 848×480.
