New Onkyo A/V Receivers to support HDMI 1.4 as well as 3D and Audio Return Channel

Onkyo USA recently announced that all their new 2010 A/V receivers will support HDMI 1.4 (High Definition Multimedia Interface) and what’s more, they will also be capable of 3D and Audio Return Channel. According to Onkyo, the Audio Return Channel in HDMI 1.4 enables a TV to send audio data “upstream” over a conventional HDMI cable to an A/V receiver or surround audio controller, increasing user flexibility and eliminating the need for any separate S/PDIF audio connection.

Onkyo USA is expected to introduce them in the Spring of this year.
