Big move by Skype: HD video calls & LG and Panasonic Skype-enabled HDTVs are in the horizon
New Skype 4.2 beta for Windows supports HD video quality ( 1280 x 720 ) with 30fps resolution. Two companies, faceVision and in Store, are manufacturers Skype is working with for HD webcams capable of video encoding and processing onboard eliminating the need for a high-performance PC. Skype states that the webcams will soon be available online in skypeshop. As to LG and Panasonic deal, they will start selling in the Spring of this year new HDTVs with integrated 720p webcam, Skype software as well as microphones.
