SANYO unleashed ‘eneloop music booster’, Rechargeable DC9V Battery Unit for Music Devices

Sanyo, now part of the Panasonic Group, added a new product to their Eneloop Universe line: ‘eneloop music booster’. Coming in W65×D42×H120mm size and weighing 280g, this product seems to come as a great convenience for musicians who either have had to use AC adapter or 9-volt DC (dry-cell) battery to power up their musical devices such as effects units, amps, graphic equalizers, and multitrack recorders. One of the conveniences of eneloop music booster is that thanks to its built-in rechargeable high capacity lithium-ion battery (83.7V, 7.35 Ah), it can be used even in environments where there is no electrical outlet unlike what a usual AC adapter requires. And compared with the usual dry-cell batteries which cause inconsistent sound quality because of the changes in battery voltage, Sanyo’s DC9V battery (a.k.a. eneloop music booster) can provide consistent sound quality thanks to its voltage boosting technology just as its name implies.

Other pros include two 9-volt power ports which allows it to power two 9V music devices at the same time; a remaining power indicator which enables the musicians to see the battery level just by checking the color of the LED light (green: over 60% power remaining; to orange : 30% to 60% remaining; red :less than 30% ), and the on/off switch button which saves them from unplugging the musical devices separately.

Scheduled to be exhibited at the World’s largest musical instrument trade, the NAMM Show in the US from January 14 to 17, 2010 and will be available on markets from March 4, 2010. No price info.
