TeliaSonera offers 4G services with Samsung’s LTE Dongle

As of December 1, TeliaSoneria (the operator providing telecommunication services in the Nordic and Baltic countries, the emerging markets of Eurasia, including Russia and Turkey, and in Spain) started to offer Samsung’s Long Term Evolution (LTE) Dongle (a.k.a GT-B3710) in Stockholm, Sweden and in Oslo, Norway. The customers there now have the opportunity to enjoy maximum download speeds of 100 Mbps in 4G, which is according to Samsung, ten times faster than the speed of the current ‘Turbo 3G’ service. Samsung’s dongle supports 2.6GHz band LTE service. Samsung also announces that they will provide an updated version of USB dongle which offers backward compatibility to LTE, HSPA, and EDGE service, in the first half of 2010.
