Wash away the unwanted in the air, SANYO Air Washer Plus TM

Qualifying as the first air treatment product SANYO introduced US for home-use, the AIR Washer Plus TM’s purification system operates utilizing Sanyo’s Electrolyzed Water Technology and HEPA filter to eliminate pathogens such as bacteria or gems and unpleasant odor in the air as well as reducing the airborne pollen and allergy-causing dust. As it is name implies it “cleans the air with the power of water”.

The technology operates by creating electrolyzed water, or combining tap water with electricity, to create two types of active oxygen that work to clean without the requirement for any additional chemicals. Other than its use in air treatment, electrolyzed water has also been used effectively in other industries such as food safety handling, washing raw materials, and cleaning utensils.

Apart from using electrolyzed water technology for air purification, being equipped with a 3-directional (upward, left-ward, right-ward) air distribution system is also said to be what distinguishes this product from others of its kind.

Sanyo announced that they are also planning a commercial-use version in mid-January 2010 for public gathering places.
