Equipped with a LED-backlit panel, the 22” Wide MultiSync EA222WMe-BK is so far the most environmentally-friendly LCD by NEC. Aiming to achieve eco-friendliness without any sacrifice in quality, NEC states to have used recycled plastics in its production while avoiding hazardous materials such as mercury, halogen and arsenic. In addition, the LED panel gets good credit by providing 250 cd/m2 in brightness as the other panel types but with 20% less power. Its eco-aspects do not end there. While its standard power consumption is 23W, on ECO-Mode 1 & 2 it consumes 17W/13W respectively and only 0.45W on power savings mode. It also has cost meter and carbon footprint meter tracking electricity and carbon savings respectively. 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio is among its highlights as well.
