Sony, World’s First Transfer Jet Compatible LSIs now available
Remember, back in October we talked about Sony’s Transfer Jet Technology and its application in two Toshiba products (a pocket PC and a Notebook) after visiting their booths at CEATEC 2009. Good news is Sony Corporation has announced right today that their Transfer Jet compatible LSIs (a.k.a the CXD3267AGG and CXD3268AGW) are available on market. A reference kit and software development kit is said to be provided for developers to apply this technology in various products such as mobile phones, digital video cameras,, digital still cameras, PCs and HD recorders. Sony also added 3 modules incorporating these LSIs: “a compact module for use in mobile products, a PCI Express Mini Card module for use in notebook PCs, and a USB connection module”.
Looking forward to enjoying the convenience of this technology!

Transfer Jet is a close proximity wireless technology enabling a high speed data transmission rate of 560 Mbps and eliminating major issues of current wireless technologies such as complex initial setup, unstable transmission or the need for access points. TransferJetTM has adopted an intuitive interface consisting of simply bringing two products in close proximity. For example, one can display a picture simply by touching a digital camera to a TV, or transfer music files just by holding a cellular phone over a portable audio player. This technology is expected to be widely utilized as a high-speed universal interface connecting a variety of consumer electronic products.
