Yamaha’s New Micro HiFi with Wireless iPod Cradle

Yamaha released a new micro HiFi, the MCR-140, with a USB port, CD player and 2×15W speakers. It features an iPod AirWired cradle for wirelessly streaming iPod audio (lossless) to a hi-fi (up to 10m). The AirWired dock can be charged directly from the MCR-140 by docking the whole setting. This little hi-fi will be released in Japan later this month for around 40,000 Yen (€306) and supports both WMA and MP3 files.

So it features this fancy wireless docking station for an iPod or iPhone but it doesn’t support AAC audio? I realize audio doesn’t come out of the iPod in AAC format, but it is a good bet that many iPod owners will have a few AAC files they’d want to play the same way as MP3 or WMA files.
