[CEATEC 09- Live] KDDI Camera Based Tangible Controller for Mobile Phones

Here’s the 2nd generation of an amazing technology and concept offered by KDDI. Thanks to a simple soft plastic joystick (with a red and blue square printed on its core) stuck on the top of the camera module, KDDI turned this little setting into an extremely cheap and accurate joystick for your mobile phone.

Once dedicated software installed that translates the two RED and BLUE square (printed at the bottom of the plastic joystick) movements and the plastic joystick, you can play games like do at home and even zoom in or out by rotating the little plastic tube on itself on the left or the right.

A really amazing concept that we(d love to see on the market soon, unfortunately so far KDDI has yet to give a possible launch date for this product/service and we don’t even know if they’ll even release it.
