Pioneer’s New 12x BD Burner

This morning Pioneer introduced the BDR-S05J-BK, a new 12x capable BD-R burner. On top of the usual BD discs, it also supports LTH discs with a writing speed up to 6x… Here’s pretty good news since LTH discs are cheaper to make and more friendly to the environment.

The BDR-S05J-BK will be released at the end of the month for around 38,000 Yen (€284).

Nice… this is about the only thing I’m really interested when it comes to Blu-ray right now.

Hopefully, blank media will have a price drop soon…

Now, if only the price of the blank media would come way, way, way, way, way, way down … Then I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Meanwhile, back to really. I’ll keep burning DVD-r’s at 12x all day long

    Even DVD-DL are a joke in compatibility/price/performance ratio …
