The Satellite P500 will be available during the fourth quarter 2009 throughout Europe, Middle
East and Africa.

Let me entertain you!
High Definition (HD) is a key concept for the Satellite P500: Content is displayed on the 18.4” TruBrite® LCD screen with 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1680 x 945 (HD) or 1920 x 1080 (Full HD). The Satellite P500 comes with a Blu-Ray ReWritable drive1 which supports Blu-Ray ROM. BD-R and BD-RE and DVD SuperMulti DL +/RW, or a slot-loading DVD SuperMulti drive1, together with Resolution+, an algorithm developed by Toshiba to upconvert videos and DVDs with standard definition quality to near high definition level in realtime, with improved edge detail and texture. High-end Harman Kardon® stereo speakers provide a corresponding vibrant sound experience. A High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) enables
high quality multimedia data transmissions between the laptop and a second HDMI device like a TV set.

Life is easy!
Thanks to the REGZA-Link, a HDMI CEC (High-Definition Multimedia Interface Consumer Electronics Control) interface, the Satellite P500 can be operated with a remote control that is normally used for other consumer electronic devices. Eight feather touch buttons give direct access to often used audio/video functions and also to Toshiba’s Eco Utility, which makes reduction of power consumption easy. The Satellite P500 features a fullsize keyboard with a numeric keypad and a touch Pad with Multi-Touch Control which facilitates scrolling and other often used operating functions. The Toshiba ConfigFree™ facilitates wireless network configuration and online access via the embedded WLAN interface (802.11 a/b/g/n-draft) with diversity
antenna or via Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.

Black Beauty
To meet customers’ different design and price expectations Toshiba gives consumers the choice of two variations: One comes with a Precious Black LCD cover and LCD mask, a black hinge and a silver painted rim. Adding to its sophisticated allure, a premium version alternatively offers an edge-to-edge display (Flush Screen) with a glass mask while rim and hinge are made of chrome, further enhancing the elegant design. The backlit keyboard with flat keys in a matt black finish transforms the Satellite P500 into an elegant multimedia flagship.

The right power for the job
The Satellite P500 will be powered by the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors , offers up to 8 GB DDR2 RAM memory and and supports up to two HDDs with a capacity of up to 1TB. For advanced graphics performance the Satellite P500 is equipped with the latest generation of NVIDIA graphic chipsets.
Peripheral devices connect via three USB 2.0 ports or via a eSATA/USB combo port supporting USB Sleep-and-Charge to charge mobile devices even if the laptop is switched off. An Express Card slot, a 5-in-1 Bridge Media port, S/P-DIF. an interface for transmission of digital audio data and FireWire further increase the connectivity range of Satellite P500.

Sustainable and environment friendly
As a responsible global corporate citizen, Toshiba ensures that all laptops are RoHS-compliant, effectively reducing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances. Additionally, the Toshiba Eco Utility with a dedicated Toshiba Eco Utility button for easy access to the application help to reduce power consumption. The new Toshiba Satellite P500 is ENERGY STAR® 5.0 qualified.
