Sony Meltdown… Sony Laptop Can’t Play Sony Disks with Sony Drive on Sony TVs

I had a huge laugh reading this on CrunchGear, so I decided to share it.

CrunchGear reported a nice little story of someone who had a lot of trouble watching a Blu-ray movie… How simple this is normally, but this poor fellow suffers from major Sony fever, where his Watchmen DVD (Sony Pictures) and its Vaio PC connected to his Sony TV didn’t work together… According to CrunchGear and the on the same topic, someone else couldn’t plug his PS3 to a Bravia TV via HDMI… How ridiculous!

This said, I don’t know if you’ve realized but more and more companys, not only Sony but other hardware and even software makers (like Microsoft) are can’t make their own stuff work other applications… This is pretty sad but is more and more a reality where huge corporations work on connectable solutions (soft or hard)…

What about you? Did you ever have a similar problem?

Kudos to the folks at CrunchGear for this wonderful piece of news, I had really a good laugh.

This story reminds me of an Onion News video on a Sony product, if you don’t know what I’m talking about search Youtube…

    What a sad story.
I own a ps3 and a sony bravia myself and they just work fine. If I turn on my ps3, the tv turns on automatically, and vice versa. However it is true that there are many issues between the rivalling departments at sony like the pc and home theater department who just want to make their things work together while Sony Pictures want to put as much drm crap on their media as possible. >_

I’m not really that surprised, if you spend alot of time making your equipment proprietary so it doesn’t play well with others its only a matter of time you accidentally shoot yourself in the foot and make something that doesn’t work will your own equipment.

I have the Sony Bravia and PS3 HDMI problem. It’s due to Sony’s use of HDMI security (copyright protection crap) i can’t play 1080p from my PS3 to my sony bravia TV because they fucked up the HDMI trying to add all this anti-piracy security on it.
