I’m a recent eMobile pocket wifi user. Very convenient when in use, but I thought I would be able to cut my Softbank iPhone bill down by using this. It seems not. Looking for some info from other users online and found this site.

It seems when not actively using wi-fi, the signal drops and I must manually push the wi-fi/WPS button to reconnect, sometimes by this time my email has already been downloaded through 3G. Anyone else having these problems? What's the best setting with an iPhone?

The 4 hours battery time is a little short if you’re out and about all day and constantly running the wi-fi.

Of course, it’s pretty cool having wi-fi wherever you go (in the city limits). Hopefully they’ll improve the device with time.

If you have any user tips, I’d be glad to hear them.

When EMobile first launched, it was a MVNO on DoCoMo's 2100mhz (UMTS Band I) network. But EMobile has since constructed its own network towers and its devices run on 1700mhz (UMTS Band IX).

You can check that the D31HW is only using W-CDMA 1700mhz for the HSPA+ connection in the specs:

So EMobile is not using DoCoMo network.
