Oimachi is just an average local Japanese area, at the crossroads of popular train station (Tokyu Oimachi and JR Keihin Tohoku). One stop from Shinagawa, Oimachi has been my connection for the past 5 years… There’s nothing really special about it per se, but Oimachi is a typical small Japanese popular area with huge department stores (Yamada Denki and Itoyokado), surrounded by many small and family owned stores and typical dark and dirty streets filled with restaurants where salarymen get drunk after work.

I personally like these little dark streets, they are full of surprises at every corner and filled with very dirty but oh so good restaurants… Where gyoza is hand made and ramen has been cooked same way for generations.
