Thanko’s New Pocket HDCam, Hands-on
Late afternoon yesterday Thanko released a new HDV camera, the HDCam POMOHDV1, an HDV (not HD) camera.
So what’s the difference between HD and HDV (like most Sony camcorders), the difference comes from the resolution, with 1440×1080 for the HDV and 1920×1080 for the HD. So yes, the Thanko HDCam is an HDV camera capable of recording video in 1440×1080/30p at 12Mbps and 1280×720/30p video at 6Mbps in H.264.
It features 32MB of internal memory and can receive SDHC cards up to 32GB, HDMI out, a 2.0” LCD, PAL/NTSC…
Now for the quality, let’s say you’ll get something similar to an HDFlip, which is quite acceptable.
