i completely agree thxAMD. What’s the point of putting out an 8000 dollar monitor without having the vertical resolution at 1080 minimum. Might as well pick up 2 or 3 32″ monitors with a resolution of 2560×1600 and picking up this mobo http://www.sysopt.com/features/mboard/article.php/3718226

This monitor is exactly the same product as Ostendo’s CRVD, leading me to believe NEC and Alienware are just remarketing it as their own under license. http://www.ostendo.com/ Even the picture is the same. Look at the bottom right hand corner of the monitor. Other than the NEC logo in the middle, it’s a dead ringer.

I have played with this monitor and it is one of the coolest monitors that I have played with. There is still a way to go with it but the 4 DLP engines make it totally worth it.

Everybody always finds a way to nit pick about everything……bottom line is this thing is pretty cool and innovative! Nice to see someone coming up with new ideas! Takes one to be the guinea pig before anybody else can steal their idea! Just a matter of time until somebody releases a unit with exactly the specs you are looking for at a reasonable price.

They screwed up not making the resolution 1080 vertically. That is going to drive a few video customers away, which I don’t think NEC wanted.

Also, a tad thinner would’ve been much better. It doesn’t have to be 2″ thick, but compared to the height, it’s a bit too thick.

I wouldn’t complain with 6″ or so. Otherwise, it makes shipping and weight a bit of a concern.

This monitor needed to be 3″ taller, 1080 vertically and 2″ thinner or so to make it really attractive to me. Making it $3000 cheaper, would’ve also helped, of course …
