New 5D MK II Firmware By the End of June

The 5D Mark II is an IMPRESSIVE camera, and what’s even more impressive in its video mode. Unfortunately unlike the Panasonic’s GH1, Canon doesn’t give you full control of your camera in this mode, like ISO and shutter speed or the aperture/exposure. By the end of June however, according to Canon Japan, this will change once and for all with a new Firmware update…

Unfortunately Canon has not released any information on a future Firmware update on their Kiss X3 (Rebel T1i or 500D) which also suffers from the same “features”. Now if only they would offer at least a 720/60p mode, I’d be very happy!

    Hi there,

We are visiting and my husband wants to buy this camera. Do you think we should wait to buy it once this update is made? We were going to order it online from a Japanese camera store on the net because we can get a pretty good deal that way. We are only going to be here till June 20th.

Also, do you know of any good used camera shops in Tokyo? We need to buy some lenses and a used camera.

Thanks!! You just seem like you really know your stuff so I thought I’d ask.
