OCZ Z-Drive and PhotoFast G-Monster PCIe Street Price

This morning I went for a walk in Akihabara and shot this picture (Nikon D5000) of the latest PCIe SSD from both OCZ and PhotoFast.

Interesting to see fastest of both (The PhotoFast) is also the cheapest. And get ready to spend at least 448,000 Yen (€3395) for a 1TB PCIe SSD.

Side note, the more I use the D5000, the more I like the pictures taken with it… even with the stock lens…

When I clocked my photofast DIY SSD with 6 class 6 SDHC cards, the max read was just under 100mb/s and the random read was much slower…raptor in comparison was much cheaper with the same speeds with fast random read.

So I wonder what the random read speed is for these SSDs.

Im sure its a lot faster that your SD card set up.

I would love one of these drives, but the costs are just way too high at this time.

I give it another year or two before they become affordable.

Right now ive got better things to be spending that kind of money on….

My Velociraptor is more than fast enough at 100mbps R/W

And there are cheaper SSD alternatives that are also fast enough for the average user..
