QNAP VioStor-5012: Not a NAS, but a Deadly NVR
NVR stands for Network Video Surveillance, and the VioStor-5012 is just the box behind each camera to record and back-up all your surveillance video on a 5-bay device and gives you access to all the recorded video on a private network or to anyone on the Internet.
The QNAP VioStor-5012, is the latest NVR from the Taiwanese manufacturer, and here too they powered a little NVR with a 1.6GH Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM that supports up to 12 channel in M-JPEG or MPEG-4 recording from AXIS, ACTi, Arecont, Canon, D-Link, EDIMAX, ELMO, EtroVision, GANZ, iPUX, IQeye, LevelOne, MOBOTIX, Panasonic BB/ BL/ i-Pro, SANYO, SONY, TOSHIBA, TRENDnet, VIVOTEK & Y-CAM IP-based security cameras.
