Buffalo Upgrades Their SATA SSD with Mini USB to 256GB
Last February Buffalo announced the SHD-NPUM, a series of SATA SSDs with a mini USB port that can be used as an external SDD or internal 2.5” SSD. Available until today with up to a maximum of 128GB, the SHD-NPUM series is now offered with a maximum capacity of 256GB and will be sold in Japan at the beginning of May for a price around €630.

Man this is nice SSD but why always bigger ones? 126 GB for Desktop or Mobile Use is enough. I have a Super Talent in my Asus 900 with 32 GB and thats Fun.
So please, dont make them bigger, make them cheaper.

The price is driven by quantity and availability.
The more ssd’s out there, the cheaper they get.
As long as companies keep producing more and more ssd’s, the price will lower.
They’re currently only at the 256 GB capacity, but once they hit 1 TB, anything under 1 TB will start to become cheaper.
It’s just like flash drives.
A 2 GB flash drive used to cost a lot several years ago. Now, since there’s 16 or even 32 gb ones and 2 gb ones are really cheap.
Hard drives went through the same thing. The newer (faster/bigger) hard drives drive the price down of the older hard drives.
Prices on SSD will go down when more companies manufacture them and have bigger capacity.
