You Think Working for a Famous Japanese Game Software Company is Cool?

Most of us believe that working for a game software company like Konami is truly awesome. You can wear what you want, eat candy all day, work in a Goolge like environment… Maybe overseas, but in Japan this is far from being the case. As proof below are some official pictures from a Konami freshmen and women entrance ceremony held at Tokyo Midtwon Hall last week… You guessed it right, it looks WAY more like a private high-school entrance ceremony rather than a welcome to a leading edge video game software company…

PS: In Japan freshmen and women MUST wear black business suits (skirst for women) for both their first interview and their training period, from 3 to 6 months.

ANY country, ANY culture – people are most efficient and creative when they are COMFORTABLE. Believe me, most Japanese are comfortable in suits….

I wouldn’t last a day in a culture like that, although the opening ceremony might not say all that much about workfloor circumstances.

This looks like nightmare. How can anyone be creative in an environment like that?

I’d rather be poor and jobless… oh yeah, I am.

Haha I work for NBC and we wear whatever.. (well no dresses that make you look like a hooker and no shorts) but it’s a pretty great environment. I don’t know if I could handle dressing so formal all the time, but hey if I was getting paid then…. go with the flow right?
