Here’s the ultimate piggy bank for geeks… Powered by 3 AA batteries, this Space Invader is an exact replica of the first Space Invader arcade game, and like the real thing you have to insert some coins to play it… If Takara Tomy announced this game only accepts 100 Yen coins (max 80) you can insert any coin that fits in the hole.

    With all due respect, I love old games and yes, this is one of many I play using a MAME, that’s not the point though, is it? This is a faithful tactile miniature of the original game I used to sit in front of as a teenager, it evokes memories of smoke stained carpets and spilled beer that just the game itself can never really touch. Personally, I’d love one as a gift.
