PIE 09: Sigma DP2 Not an Evolution, but a Revolution! Hands-on

We loved the Sigma DP1 despite its few glitches, especially its slow response time. This morning we were amazed to see the speed of the DP2, it seems that Sigma completely redesigned the DP1…

Now we’re waiting for a test sample to review.

What, in your mind, constitutes “completely redesigned”? The Dp2 is almost identical to the DP1, except for the lens.

You do not achieve speed improvement and other nice little stuff that has the 2 by simple magic… you have to redesign, rework and fine tune something… Also “Almost” technical specs does not mean same product… after all a 2008 Nissan GT-R and 2009 Nissan GT-R have “almost” the same specs, but are technically different in many points… (Sorry for this example)

So when you say ‘faster’ – do you mean both in focusing and processing speeds?
