PIE 09: Kiss X3 (500D, Rebel T1i) Hands-on and First Impression

Yesterday Canon announced world wide their new baby DLSR, the Kiss X3 in Japan, aka 500D in Europe and Rebel T1i in North America. This morning before the PIE 2009 opened I had some quality time with the Kiss X3… Unfortunately I couldn’t test it in depth due to lack of time, but I was really impressed by its overall quality, the LCD is also pretty nice and shooting with the X3 is fast and enjoyable… Video recording is easy to use but the 20fps in 1080 is definitely not the best frame rate ever… The 720/30p mode does give some pretty nice stuff… We’re excited about getting a test device in our hands soon.

Like every Kiss, the X3 is very light. If this was done on purpose to be more accessible to women, a good point for them, but I do not feel comfortable handling a camera this light.
